This website
This website has no analytics. It sets no cookies of its own.
A moment after each page opens, it loads Gumroad’s script (gumroad.js), which shows the free download’s sign-up over the page. The buy buttons take you to Gumroad’s checkout, and the script tells Gumroad which of our pages you came from. Gumroad runs its script and the checkout under Gumroad’s privacy policy.
The site keeps a few small notes in your browser’s storage (not cookies): whether you have closed or used the free-download prompt, so it doesn’t come back; for the current visit only, the campaign tags of the link you arrived by (for example “utm_source=pinterest”). Those tags are added to Gumroad checkout links, so if you buy, Gumroad’s sales report shows us which post or ad led to the sale.
Like any website, our host (Cloudflare) may keep basic server logs, such as IP addresses and pages visited. These are kept for security and to keep the site running.
There are no advertising trackers on this site.
The Statement Decoder and our emails
If you ask for The Statement Decoder, our free PDF, Gumroad’s checkout collects your email address (and, if you type it, your name) and sends you the PDF. Gumroad shares your address with us as the seller.
We use it to send you 5 short emails about reading and keeping track of your accounts (the last one offers Steady Ledger at 15% off), then occasional news from Wren & Co. Each email has a one-click unsubscribe link, and you can also reply and ask us to remove you. We never sell or share your address.
Buying through Gumroad
Gumroad handles your order, payment and delivery. It is the merchant of record.
As the seller, we see the order details Gumroad shares with sellers, such as your name, email address and what you bought. We use them only to deliver the product, answer questions and handle refunds.
Messages
If you write to us, we use your message only to answer it.
